Abhyanga - nurture, nourish mind, body and soul

Abhyanga

According to Ayurveda, Abhyanga (Ayurvedic massage) should be done regularly during the old age and for small kids. It improves vision, promotes sleep, increases strength, stamina, and tissues. It increases skin’s luster and promotes its healthy glow.

How does it work?

Ayurvedic oils are the mixtures of oil and herb infused decoctions. These synergistic oils enter through the skin, absorb at the end of blood vessels and get absorbed into blood. Cell membranes are the combination of lipids and proteins. Oil is the form of lipid which can easily pass through skin to a targeted area.

Ayurvedic oil massage facilitates all body systems, instead of just a local effect on skin. There are so many musculoskeletal, neuromuscular diseases where Abhyanga has a great support and is highly recommended.

Are there any specific oils for Abhyanga?

We use all medicated herb infused oils and we choose which oil based on the client's health condition.

What are the instructions for clients?

  • It is recommended to maintain a gap of one hour between Abhyanga and a meal.

  • Avoid getting involved in unnecessary stress work and keep in mind that you need extra rest after the therapy.

  • Dress up appropriately and wear old clothes because oil can stain clothes.
